Sarver, PA (October 25, 2009) In one of the more improbable endings to a race in the history of Don Martin’s Lernerville Speedway, second generation driver Cole Duncan stole $2000 from Ed Lynch Jr. on a green-white-checkered restart Sunday afternoon to capture the DIRTcar Sprint Car Feature as part of the Inaugural DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede.
Ed Lynch Jr. is both the leading feature winner at the speedway in 2009 and the all time wins leader in the Commercial Truck & Trailer DIRTcar Sprint Division. Starting from the outside pole, Lynch took the lead at the green flag and appeared destined for a wire-to-wire feature win. However a late race caution set up the always exciting green-white-checkered restart. Most in attendance, myself included, blindly assumed that Lynch would blast off on the restart and roll the iconic 2L into Sheetz Victory Lane.

Rain Dampens Night Two of the Steel City Stampede
Heat Races bumped to Saturday Night, Features Sunday Afternoon
Round Up Tent Rockin’ All Night Long!
Sarver, PA (October 23, 2009) Due to persistent rain, Night Two of the Inaugural DIRTcar Round Up Steel City Stampede has been postponed. Tonight’s scheduled heat races have been postponed until tomorrow (Saturday) night at 6:00PM. Likewise, tomorrow’s scheduled format of B-Mains and Features has been rescheduled for Sunday October 25.
But while the rain has nixed the action on the track, it will not keep the Round Up Tent from Rockin’ the Night Away. The live band – Bishop Clay – scheduled to perform at 9:00PM tonight will perform as scheduled because “the show must go on!” Bishop Clay is an up and coming alternative rock band based out of Pittsburgh, PA and a fan favorite of DVE listeners.
